Logo and identity design

Following an initial meeting, we discovered that the Baxle team had been struggling for several years to get their Internet presence underway. A website existed but had never been completed, the site was missing essential information including their physical address and details of their services. We were determined to get them online without the frustration and unnecessary web-jargon that was causing them to keep putting off the task.

Getting a logo and brand style organised

First, we were keen to give Baxle a modern and unique logo. The competition is visually fairly similar and we felt this was a first-stop in getting the London based haulage business to stand out from the crowd.

We presented a selection of ideas – from fairly safe to something a little different. We were delighted to find them embracing change and they were willing to go ahead with the most creative option.

Developing a powerful graphic language

The name Baxle is short and has a powerful X right in the centre. We worked on this to communicate the positioning of the brand – crisscrossing the nation from their central base in the Capital. Bringing together their network of collection and delivery services.

We drew a colourful London skyline using their new prescribed colour palette. The graphic stands out excellently on both black and white backgrounds, both in print and online.

Web design and custom build

We designed a responsive bespoke WordPress theme with the flexibility to communicate all the different aspects of their business. Their main services are heavy haulage, bulk tipping and trailer hire. In addition to haulage, Baxle are the sole-UK distributor for Feber semi-trailers plus, they offer an HGV workshop facility. The website needed to give them the opportunity to promote their trailer sales and assist in the recruitment of drivers.

The team at Baxle wanted us to provide as much support as possible, this included researching their areas of business to enable us to write much of the body text, ready for them to approve. We liaised directly with FORS (Fleet Operator Recognition Scheme) to update the Baxle presence on their own website. We managed to source a selection of real-life images from Flickr showing their trucks on the road. We contacted the photographers and applied the appropriate credits to the images used.

Over-hauling social media channels

With the website complete we then went on to create branded Facebook and Linked-In profiles, ready to get them started on their Social Media journey. We posted jobs and general messages on both channels after implementing all the necessary profile imagery. In creating the channels we wrote their biography text, added hashtags, set up web links and made sure all the profile information was complete.

Large scale graphics for big vehicles

With a fleet of more than 30 vehicles including a van, tractor units, trailers and tippers we were looking forward to working to a large scale! We started with their VW Crafter maintenance vehicle and are now designing a Volvo truck body.
