We have worked closely with Davy’s Wine Merchants for over a decade and are always exploring graphic styles, typography and illustration to use for their next sales promotion campaign. POS, large format posters, promotional materials, wine lists, menus and price lists – just a snapshot of the range of communications we produce for this 5th generation family business.
Davy’s regularly run promotions featuring highlights from their extensive list of wines. They endeavour to personally source superb wines from lesser known, family-run vineyards through to big hitting old world favourites like Châteauneuf-du-Pape or Pol Roger Champagne.
Creative wine promotions
We have created several bespoke illustrations for wine promotions. The custom drawings typically feature on 4-page booklets, posters and large format foamex window displays. Each campaign is rolled-out across their portfolio of wine bars and restaurants throughout the City of London and West End.
This White Bordeaux illustration was created using Procreate on the iPad. We wanted to make a realistic watercolour but it was essential to be able to separate elements for maximum flexibility. The barrel, wine and food can be moved around the scene and with a layer of extended sky, it was easy to fit in a variety of text and call-outs to suit.
Italian vineyards and scooters
Many of the wine promotions focus on a specific country such as this one for the Native Grapes of Italy. The client’s brief specified an Italian scooter and a vineyard landscape. We made sure the illustration was flexible so that it could be reconfigured for social media formats and the range of printed materials from large posters to A7 booklets. We added a few fun details like the numberplate and the Giacomo Agostini and Renzo Pasolini helmet designs.
Illustrated wine regions
For a special Tuscany focussed wine tasting we created these illustrative wine region maps using an earthy colour palette. We used them inside a tasting booklet which was received by each customer, the booklet provided tasting notes and facts about each of the wines on offer at the tasting.
