As two-stroke racers ourselves we were keen to get involved in a new race series for post classic GP bikes. We knew that our creative design experience paired with our own passion for these machines would allow us to really connect with the riders. We created the brand name and designed a bespoke identity that was rolled out across social media channels, managed GDPR compliant email campaigns and range of merchandise.
GP Originals is a race series specifically for two-stroke 250cc and 350cc motorcycles from the 1970s to early ’80s. With a focus on period features, it honours a golden era when a privateer could tune their own Grand Prix machine and win at the highest level of competition. The name GP Originals was selected by the team from our proposal. We created the identity to reflect racing heritage but also to work effortlessly in modern channels of communication.
The Series is now underway and is growing beyond all expectations. Goodwood used the GP Originals’ pool of machines and riders for their Hailwood Trophy race at the Members Meeting in 2017 and ’18 and the Series hopes to return in 2020.
Brand in action
The finished logo has been reproduced successfully in litho, digital, screen print and dye sublimation. We produced engraved jet holders, mugs and t-shirts to complete a suite of branded items.
GP Originals has grown into the biggest dedicated grid of post classic two-stroke GP machines within one season.
