With their new company identity in place Precision Automation needed branded workwear for their team of engineers and sales staff. The competitive theme worked well across softshell jackets and performance Aircool polo shirts. A relaxed short sleeved shirt completed the set with an embroidered logo to the chest and signature stripes on the sleeve.
Sourcing garment options
Following the brief, we sourced a selection of jackets and polo top samples to choose from. The team wanted garments that were sporty and practical in a range of sizes from medium to XXXL. The preferred production method was screen printing for it’s long lasting finish. However, after much consultation it was decided that the sporty fabrics would not be suitable for this method of print and we opted for embroidery.
With the Covid-19 pandemic affecting supply and production across the globe it became apparent that sourcing and producing products would prove problematic. With a few false starts the shirts were swapped for an alternative brand. The jackets and polos were secured from a selection of suppliers due to limited supply. Our regular printer had fallen away due to the pandemic and we had to find alternatives.
Resolving problems
This project should have been very straightforward. However, due to the highly unusual circumstances of 2020, there were challenging obstacles to overcome. We were determined to deliver the project with as little impact on our client as possible. This resulted in an extensive search to source enough of the same products to complete the set. We personally delivered and collected them to ensure production was not delayed any further. On receipt of the final items, we found that the garments were just loose in the boxes. We hand-folded each one and repacked the boxes for overnight delivery to the client’s premises.
Expanding the order
After the first batch of navy blue clothing, we sourced and produced a white shirt, a light grey shirt and branded ties. The set again presented embroidered logos to the chest with the competitive stripe on the sleeve. The tie is decorated with simply the embroidered monogram. The Precision Automation sales team now have a choice of smart, professional looking clothing for meetings, events and on-site visits.
